Goodman Furnace Repair & Installation
When it comes to Goodman furnace repair and installation, North Wind is the name you can rely on. Our certified technicians have extensive experience in dealing with Goodman furnaces and can quickly diagnose and resolve any issues they may encounter. Whether your furnace is experiencing a malfunction or you’re looking to install a new Goodman unit, we have the expertise to ensure your furnace operates at its best.
Why is my Goodman furnace not turning on at all?
Several reasons could cause this issue. First, check if the thermostat is set to “heat” and the desired temperature is higher than the room temperature. Ensure that the circuit breaker or fuse for the furnace is not tripped or blown. If these are not the problem, it could be an issue with the ignition system, gas supply, or a faulty thermostat. In such cases, it’s best to call a professional technician for diagnosis and repair.
Why is my Goodman furnace constantly running without reaching the set temperature?
This could be due to a dirty or clogged air filter, restricting airflow and causing the furnace to work harder. Check the air filter and replace it if necessary. If the issue persists, the thermostat calibration might be off, or there could be a problem with the furnace’s blower motor or heat exchanger. Consulting a qualified technician is recommended for a thorough assessment.
My Goodman furnace is making unusual noises during operation. What could be the cause?
Unusual noises can indicate various issues, such as rattling due to loose components, banging caused by a faulty ignition or delayed ignition, or squealing due to a worn-out blower belt. Grinding noises might signal an issue with the blower motor or other internal parts. It’s crucial to have a technician inspect and diagnose the source of the noise to prevent further damage.
How often should I schedule maintenance for my Goodman furnace?
It’s advisable to schedule annual maintenance for your Goodman furnace. Regular maintenance ensures that the system operates efficiently, minimizes the risk of breakdowns, and extends the lifespan of the equipment. Spring or fall is an ideal time to have your furnace serviced.
How can I improve the energy efficiency of my Goodman furnace?
To enhance energy efficiency, ensure that the air filter is clean and regularly replaced. Seal any air leaks in the ductwork or around the furnace. Consider installing a programmable thermostat to regulate temperature settings efficiently. Additionally, scheduling annual professional maintenance will optimize the furnace’s performance.
Goodman AC Repair & Installation

Our skilled technicians are well-versed in Goodman AC repair and installation, proficiently handling various AC problems to restore cool comfort to your home. From minor repairs to complete system installations, we’ve got you covered.
Why is my Goodman AC not cooling the room effectively?
Inadequate cooling can be caused by a dirty air filter, obstructed condenser unit, refrigerant leaks, or a malfunctioning compressor. Check the air filter and clean or replace it as needed. Ensure that the outdoor unit is free from debris and vegetation. If the issue persists, it’s best to have a professional technician inspect and diagnose the problem.
My Goodman AC is blowing warm air. What could be the issue?
Several factors could cause this problem. It could be due to low refrigerant levels, a faulty compressor, a frozen evaporator coil, or a malfunctioning thermostat. Turn off the AC and let the frozen coil thaw before attempting to restart it. If the issue persists, contact a licensed HVAC technician to identify and resolve the root cause.
How often should I change the air filter in my Goodman AC?
For optimal performance and energy efficiency, it’s recommended to change the air filter every 1 to 3 months, depending on factors like the indoor air quality, the number of occupants, and the presence of pets.
Can I install a new Goodman AC myself?
Installing a new AC unit requires specialized knowledge and skills. It involves electrical work, refrigerant handling, and proper equipment setup. To ensure safety and proper functioning, it’s best to have a professional HVAC technician handle the installation.
Why is my Goodman AC making strange noises during operation?
Unusual sounds may indicate loose parts, a damaged fan blade, or problems with the motor or compressor. Turn off the AC and avoid using it until a qualified technician can inspect and repair the unit to prevent further damage.

Goodman Furnace Error Codes
1 Flash: System lockout
This means that your furnace has locked out due to too many ignition attempts. After one hour of lockout, your furnace will automatically reset itself.
2 Flashes: Pressure switch stuck closed
This means that the draft blower isn’t functioning properly, or your furnace has a short in the pressure switch circuit. You should either repair the short or replace the pressure switch.
3 Flashes: Pressure switch stuck open
This means your furnace has an open pressure switch circuit or the induced draft blower is operating when it shouldn’t be. You should check the pressure switch hose for blocks or an improper connection. Otherwise, see if any loose wiring needs tightening.
4 Flashes: Open high limit
This means your furnace has a primary open limit circuit. You should check and clean all the filters, tighten the wiring, and see if there are any blockages in the flue.
5 Flashes: Flame sense without gas valve
This means that your furnace senses a flame without a call for heat. You should check for a leaky or open gas valve or a lingering burner flame.
6 Flashes: Open rolloutor open fuse
Replace Fuse.
7 Flashes: Low flame signal
This warns of a low flame sense microamp signal. This is the result of a coated flame sensor or a lazy flame due to poor gas pressure. Adjust the gas pressure according to the information available to you.
8 Flashes: Igniter circuit problem
This means your furnace has an igniter circuit problem due to a defective igniter or an improperly connected igniter. Replace the igniter or check the ground wiring for defects.
9 Flashes: High-stage pressure switch
This means that your furnace has a high-stage pressure switch that won’t close during a high-stage-induced draft blower operation. Check your Goodman furnace for a pinched or blocked pressure switch hose.
Continuous flashes: Reversed 115 vac polarity
This means that your furnace has a reversed polarity of 115 volts. You will have to correct the wiring polarity after reviewing the wiring diagram.
